Jake is a water resources engineer and project manager with over 24 years of experience in hydraulic modeling, floodplain studies, hydrology, bridge scour analysis and countermeasures, and stream restoration and fish passage. He's worked extensively on FEMA map revision submittals for projects in Hawaii and California, and have served as project manager for many U.S. Army Corps of Engineers task orders throughout the western U.S.
Rumana Reaz Arifin, Ph.D.
Rumana is a Hydrologic/Hydraulic Engineer with 9 years of experience in 1-D/2-D hydraulic modeling (HEC-RAS), flood frequency analysis (HEC-SSP), FEMA map revisions, hydrologic analysis (HEC-HMS), GIS mapping and modeling (ArcGIS, QGIS, Google Earth Pro). Her specific professional skills include: 1-D hydraulic river modeling with bridge/culvert crossings, 2-D floodplain modeling with structures (bridge/culvert/weirs) and roadway, flood depth analysis and floodplain mapping, estimating flood recurrence interval, LOMRs/CLOMRs processing. She also has a strong command of programming and statistical analysis using HEC-SSP, MATLAB, R, and ArcGIS.
Darren J. Bertrand, CFM
Darren is a senior hydrologist and hydraulic modeler with over 19 years of experience in hydrologic analysis, hydraulic modeling, and 2D floodplain studies. He's worked with clients at the local, state, and federal level on a wide range of studies including dam break analysis, levee certification, floodplain mapping, FEMA map revisions, stream restoration, and flood forecasting and warning system development.
Mikell Warms, EIT
Mikell is a hydrologic and hydraulic engineer with experience performing complex hydrologic and hydraulic studies, including 2D dam breach models. In addition to proficiency with HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, and SWAT, he's also experienced in Python, MATLAB, and VBA—using them to extract and analyze large, cumbersome datasets, to automate and analyze data from 1000s of model runs, and to couple models for interdisciplinary engineering projects.
Grant Brady, EIT
Grant is a Hydrologic/Hydraulic Engineer with 5 years of experience using HEC-RAS modeling software in rural, suburban, and urban settings across California, Hawaii, and the Midwest, South, and Mid-Atlantic regions. His experience includes creating models from scratch and independently reviewing models. Projects he has worked on have ranged from simple 1-D bridge replacements to intricate 2-D flooding systems. Projects have also incorporated HEC-SSP flood frequency gage analysis, scour calculations and scour protection designs, bridge/culvert sizing, and floodplain bench design.
